The following members from the clubs of the Southern Sub Cricket Association have been selected to play a cricket match against the touring Canterbury cricket team at the Alental Hospital on December 29th. 1929. Play to commence at 11 a.m. AV. Owens, E. Morris, H. Wells, J. Webster, C. Fleming (Tvanieri), Griffith, Ogilvie (Riniu), Whitehead, Donaldson (Ruatapu), King, Thomas, Stapleton (Hokitika). The Plunket Shield match between Auckland and Otago was concluded at Eden Park to-day,, resulting in an easy win for Auckland by an innings and 192 runs. Otago in the first innings made 67 (AlcAtupllan 28. Alloo 16); AVensley took 9 for 36 Anthony 1 for 26. Auckland made 356 (Mills not out 185, Garrand 58). j Otago were little better in their second innings than in their first, they being dismissed cheaply for 97 reus. Of this total Knight contributed 37, but his display was not inspiring. The bowling of Mathieson, AVensley and Anthony proved too good for the visitors. The first liamed finished with the fine average of four for 25. AI.C.C. BEAT CANTERBURY. CHRISTCHURCH, December 27. The AI.C.C. team hatted first making 249 (Nichols 66, Gilligan 47, Worthington 60, Dansen 26.) Simmonds three wickets for 64, Cromb one for 41, Merritt four for 96, Talbot none for 15 and Lester one for 24 Canterbury in the first innings made 135 and following on made 206 for 8 wickets.
