Very favourable weather favoured those interested in Outboard "Racing on Christmas Day when a very successful regatta was held at Lake Kanieri by the Lake Kanieri Boat Club. All the boats competing were owned by local owners and several new boats which had not hitherto raced in the Club’s regattas competed for the first time.

Robinson, pulled out. “Merry Moments” established a lead before the first buoy was reached. <‘Pita-Pat” pulled ouit of the contest on account of a defective steering gear. “Merry Moments” finished first being followed by “\Vasp” at a distance of 100 yards behind. 4 “B” Class Championship, Ist and 2nd prizes (trophies). . Distance 3 miles.—“Pit-a-Pat,” (J. N. Robinson) Bmins 34sec, 1; “So Long,” (C. Collyer) Bmins 56secs, 2; “Silver Streak” (E. Park) Bmins 59secs’ B; “Playmate,” i(F. Andrews) 9mins 34secs,' 4; “Buzz Off,” (F. Gardyne), lOmins 32secs, 5. The “BuzzOffß made a bad start crossing the line about 60 feet behind the other boats. “Nuff Sed” developed engine trouble at the outset and . did - :nbt start. At the end of the first lap “Pit-a-Pat” had established a lead . being followed by “Silver ,Streak” which promised to gain second place. During the final lap, however, . “Silver Streak” was overtaken by “ ! So Long” which finished second. These two boats seemed very well matched and a very keen contest took place between them throughout the race.

Keen competition again followed between “So Long” and “Silver Streak.” This race furnished a spectacular finish, all boats excepting “Merry Moments” finishing. within a very narrow margin.
