LATE LOCALS.
The inquest on the late Wm. Saunders Ellis, who was found dead at'his residence in Albert Street Greymouth on Monday last was concluded on Saturday morning,'. Dr.H. S. :; Ra}' stated that the post mortem disclosed the fact that death was due to aiiginh: pectoris caused-by sclerosis of the arteries. A verdict in accordance with the medical testimony was returned by the Coroner, Mr W. Meldrum. At the Magistrate’s Court Greymonth on Saturday morning, a young married woman, represented by Mr W. Joyce, pleaded guilty to a charge that on March 25, 1929, at Christchurch she obtained £4O from Alfred Butcher, by falsely representing that certain articles in a residence at Christchurch were her own absolute property and unencumbered. Three other- charges of false pretences were preferred against her, obtaing £lB on April 2 from Cyril Kennedy, £2B 10s from Harry Robinson on June 6; and £4B from William Andrews on October 4. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence in two years if called upon ; also that she repay Andrews at the rate df £1 per month. An order was made for the suppression of the name.
