FRED SMITH’S DANCE ORCHESTRA

This popular Christchurch dance orchestra will be on the West Coast again during the New Year, opening the season at Hokitika on Thursday, Decemljcr 27th next.

Air Smith is bringing an entirely new combination with him the ‘personnel being as follows :—Keith Letliaby (violin), Ross 'Floyd (saxophone), Dave AlcFadden (saxophone), Thos. Hughes (trumpet), Anton Low (drums and vocalist).

Messrs MacDonald and-Donovan are unable to make the- trip and Alessrs Floyd and Hughes are taking their places in the Orchestra. The latter lias just finished important contracts at the Savoy, Dunedin, and Majestic Cabaret, Wellington.

The itinerary of the Orchestra is extensive and the Hokitika and surrounding district dates are as fol-lows:—-Hokitika, Thursday, December 27; Woodstock, Monday, December 30; Hokitika, Tuesday, December 31; Waiho Gorge, Wednesday, January 1; Matailink Thursday, January 2; Harihari, Mfciy, January 3. ' The Greypbuth tour will, follow. Souvenir programmes will be'distributed at the New Year Carnival of New Year's Eve. The programme contains a photograph of the band and the dance programme, '
