The acceptances for the Westland Racing Club’s meeting are extremely satisfactory, bearing out the piomise of the good nominations received. All the events have filled well, the Maiden Handicap, the opening event of the day, has brought out 18, and this will probably necessitate the race being run in two divisons. 'Hiere is a good field of nine in the Cup, for which a very handsome trophy has been provided, and all the shorter events have good fields, running into double figures in each case. The enlarged course and splendid straight, provides a good convincing ground for the large fields, and the public should witness some excellent sport.
