EVERYBODYS PICTURES. “THE DRAG NET”—TO-NIGHT George Bancroft, virile " star,"- who ’ will be remembered in that great picture-“ Underworld” as the leader of the gangs, has now turned detective in his latest picture, which will he screened at the Princess Theatre tonight. This picture made l>y Paramount tells of the detective's great efforts to stamp out the evils of crime and violence- in his city, and of his success. The name of the picture is “The Drag Net” and in the cast are also Wm. Powell and Evelyn Brent. In the detective bureau of a big city the staff is worried over the appointment of Two Gun Nolan. The latter, a well-known officer, is noted for his discipline, and he only judges others by the 'results. In town is Frank Trent, the head of a gang of rtmi-ruw-ners, and his girl, Cleo, who think tnat they have things their own way, till Nolan springs the surprise of having the entire underworld jailed. It is there that lie meets Cleo and tries to make her tell what she knows. Finding that he has no tangible reason for holding-the majority of the crooks, he is. forced to let them go, hut not before he has become fascinated with Cleo. fn the detective office is one, Donovan, a rather weak individual, whose personality stands out in strong contrast with the rugged, virile charac-

ter of Nolan. Between the two, despite tue difference in type, there springs up

j chief on several raids, and finally has I a hunch that Trent can be trapped at

a certain house. Without saying anything to Nolan, lie starts investigations which led up to a great finale.
