NAVAL CONFERENCE. JAPAN’S MOVE. [United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copy r igh t. ] WASHINGTON, Dec. 18. Without making and binding commitments, the Japanese Naval Conference Delegation have signified that 'japan is willing to accept twelve 10,000 ton cruisers. This is nearer sixty than seventy per cent of the American large cruiser strength, lor which ratio Japan theoretically contends. The allocation of twelve such cruisers to Japan, however, would be satisfactory to the United States, and it is authoritatively reported that it also would be acceptable to Britain. Moreover, Japan apparently is ready to reduce her request to total ten 'big cruisers if the United States and- Britain reduce their quotas of that class proportionately. 280 LIVES SAVED.
