The wicket was soft. Queensland in the first innings were out for 114. O’Connor made 27, and Levy 50. In the bowling A’Beckett took 4 for 25, Ironmonger 4 For 20, and Blaekie 2 for 40. Victoria in the first strike lost four wickets for 52. Ponsford made 28, Wotitifill 1 (retired hurt) two, Hendry six, and Ryder seven. Stumps were then drawn.
