GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S INTER,ESW" IN""" MOVEMENT. :,i CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 17. The Dominion headquarters of the Boy Scouts’ Association have received a reply from his Excellency the Gov-erifor-Gen.eral’.s official secretary to the resolution which was passed at a recent meeting of the Dominion Council. The reply reads as follows: “ I have laid before the GovernorGeneral your letter of December 9tli. communicating the references made by the chairman of the annual meeting of the Dominion Scout Council held oil November 27th. to the interest which their Excellencies have shown in the Scout movement, and containing the terms of a resolution which was passed by the Council on that occasion.

“Their Excellencies desire me to express their sincere thanks to the commit:;!' for its very kind action, and to sav how mu. 1l they appreciate the remarks made- by the chairman and the form in which the resolution was passed. They s ond their warmest good wishes to Now Zealand scouts and trust that the movement will continue to make good progress, for the value of its influence cannot, they’feel, he overestimated.”

Captain J. R. Kirk, M.8.E., chairman of the Dominion Boy Scouts’ Council, has just received the following cablegram from Lord Baden Powell regarding the appointment of Colonel P. Cleaned Fenwick, C.ALG., as Dominion Chief Commissioner, vice Bri-gadier-General A. V'. Andrews, C.ALG. resigned. The text of the message is as follows:

“.Executive committee of Council agree to recommendation of Dominion Council to appoint Colonel P. Clennell Fenwick as Dominion Chief Commissioner. "Warrant follows.”
