YOUTHFUL SANDBAGGERS. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association.] WANGANUI, Dec. 18. Yesterday afternoon the police arrested two youths under 15 years, cn charges of theft and sandbagging two local residents. They prowled about late at night, firstly stealing door knobs and curtains to make sandbags, and later in quest of victims. Two men who were waylaid and dropped, report that no money was missing. One who was knocked down in Bell Street on Wednesday night still has a big lump behind the right ear. A Children's Court will deal with the boys on Saturday. RURAL CREDITS BOARD. WELLINGTON Dec. 18. At the monthly meeting of the Rural Intermediate Credits Board consideration was given to a number of matters bearing on the operation of the new system of “limits” recently introduced for the benefit of sheep farmers and grain growers. These classes of farmers "will now be able to arrange with tne Board for overdraft limits proportionate to the value of security offered up ty which they will be entitled to receive advances, as and wnen they require money to meet current outgoings for farming purposes generally. The detailed workings of the new system have now been settled. VALUELESS CHEQUES. HAMILTON, Dec. 18. Thomas Hepburn Thompson, aged 18 years, ail English immigrant, was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention for passing eight valueless cheques at New Plymouth, Te Kuiti, Hamilton and Ngaruawahia.
