SHOCKING TRAGEDY
FOUR CHILDREN BURNT. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) (Received this day at 12.25. p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 18. A message from Albury states Trapped in a locked room of their home at Coppabella station, four children, the eldest aged 4 and the youngest five months, were burnt to death. The whole countryside is horrified at the appalling tragedy. The parents are Mr and Mrs Graham. The father works half a mile distant, and the mother hnd occasion to visit him. So she locked the children in. a room for safety. A drover passing the house some time later saw it burning fiercely. He made .frenzied efforts to break into the hut, but the terrific heat mqde it impossible. Charred almost beyond recognition, the bodies of the three older children were found huddled in one corner. The body of the baby has not been recovered. No explanation of the fire can be given.
