•UNSUITABLE films. “TJnufortunately a series of pictures has been introduced into- the country that makes for anything than social uplift,” said Mr T. B. Strong, Director of Education ,at the Wellington. Girls’ College “break-up” when referring to the social influence of moving pictures. “I can see nothing but harm educationally in introducing into this country a series of pictures dealing with New York cabaret life,” he continued. “The attraction of these pictures does not depend upon the flimsy plot, which is of no interest, but upon an unashamed exhibition of female nakedness.”
