FIJIAN FLOODS
CUTTER STRIKES REEF. FEARS FOR SAFETY OF CREW (By Telegraph—Per Press Association ) SUVA, Dec. 16. The auxiliary cutter “Tui Caka.u” struck the Wakaya reef and disappeared in the squall. It is feared J•Hennings, owner, and eleven others aboard were drowned. The auxiliary schooner “Resolution” is ashore on Koro Island. Heavy floods are in the Navua. distric tand serious drowning losses are feared. Ten to twelve bodies were found. Many cattle were lost and fences to the value of £I6OO were destroyed. Five bodies of Indians have been recovered in the Rewa district. The Government has opened relief funds and is supplying fods to destitute Indians and Fijians.
