BOWLING

HOKITIKA v. GREYMOUTH. The Hokitika Club sent a four-rink team and a rink of colts to Greymouth on Saturday afternoon to play a game for the Reynolds Badges held by Greymouth, and were defeated by 18 points, Mr Mercer’s rink securing the Badges. The green rolled out splendidly, and is in much improved condition to last year, having a full sward, and being very true. Afternoon tea was kindly supplied by lady supporters. At the conclusion of play, Mr Brebner (President) expressed the pleasure all felt at having the visitors present, and he trusted many other games would be played during the season. Mr Cook (President of Hokitika Club) congratulated the Grey Club on their success, and on the excellence of the green, appreciating also, the hospitality of the ladies. Cheers for the two teams and the ladies concluded a very pleasant afternoon. Details follow: HOKITIKA GREYMOUTH Conning Leiteh Ward Shannon Dew Moss Benjamin Whibley 19 23 J.
