AN EARTHQUAKE

There was a prolonged earth tremor felt locally , this morning about 2.40 o’clock. It was a long undulating quiver but was not of a severe natme and lasted some ten seconds There was 1 , a further shock about 5.10 o’clock. This was o’f a much heavier type, and included two sharp jerks. It was quite a heavy, shock and lasted -for about ten to twelve seconds, it appeared to come from the east and made a rumbling noise.
