Regarding the coal crisis, the resolution by the delegates of the Northern Miners’ Lodges, already cabled, recommending a. general coal strike, has yet to come before the Council of the Miners’ Federation on Tuesday next. Hundreds of moderate unionists condemn a general strike, and in some quarters the threat of it is not regarded seriously, having regard to the fact that craft unions are unable to provide funds for an upheaval. CAMPAIGN EQUIPMENT. SYDNEY, December 13. A special train containing volunteer miners and police, and camping equipment, has arrived near the Rothbury Colliery to-day. There was no attempt at molestation by the men, who watched the train arrive. FEELING INCREASING. ON THE COALFIELDS. SYDNEY, Dec. 14. Sydney is stirred bv the preparations of the State Government to open Rothbury mine.. The whole of the coal fields are seething with anger. Speakers are making passionate appeals to nCn to remain solid. Others are urging the miners to march in a body today to Rothbury and drive out the volunteers from the mine.

Miners Unions on the northern fields decided on mass picketing. It is expected five thousand men will be on picket duty ..at Rothbury on Monday. The Government is now making arrangements to man Pealton and Richmond main collieries, with free labour.

The Australian Labour Party executive endorsed the policy of the Labour Council for an extension of the strike and pledged its moral and financial support. The decision "'ill be bind in nr on Labour members from New South Wales, who are in a majority in the Federal Labour caucus.

The Federal Government is informed that certain camp equipment which was furnished to the New South Wales Government hv the National Hide AsTnp'a.tiou would he withdrawn immediately.

Mr Scull in stated in the House that the Ministry could not sanction any organisation receiving Government «rrants takng part in industrial disputes.
