An offer of a new suit if he would overlook an offence of speeding in a motor-car was made to a traffic inspector of the Main Highways Board by a passenger in a taxi driven by Reginald Lincoln, of Auckland, who was fined £4 and costs at the Otahuhu Police Court for exceeding the speed limit on the Great South Road: Mr Barrett, the inspector, said that he followed the taxi on November 15.
