OTIRA TUNNEL
A NEW 7 RECORD. r ßy Telegraph, Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 13. Coal, timber. and general merchandise totalling 6,125 tons were brought through the Otira. Tunnel in thirtynine hours between Wednesday afternoon and early this morning, making a new record for the tunnel. It was designed to handle a thousand tons daily but during the'past year the average has been over two thousand daily.
