THE WOOL SALE. Though the prices obtained at the Christchurch wool sale on Saturday make unimpressive reading when set out alongside those secured at the corresponding sale last season they are, taken on the whole, distinctly better than the course of the wool market the last six months gave reason to hope. They should assist to relievo some of the anxiety that has prevailed among growers, and also in financial circles generally, as the prosperity of the province is more dependent on the wool cheque than on any other single factor. Relative values for different classes of wool have undergone a considerable change since the market commenced its downward run. —Christchurch Press.
