EVERYBODYS PICTURES l RICHARD BARTHELMESS IN “OUT OF THE RUINS” TONIGHT. Richard Barthelmess, popular First National star, has been the hero of dozens of pretty screen romances. From “Way Down East” and “Tol’able David” down through “The Patent Leather Kid” and “Wheels of Chance,,” he has participated in romantic stories that have thrilled millions.- In “Out of the Ruins,” his present starring vehicle, which' comes to the Princess Theatre to-night, he has a love story that will'eclipse he has ever done in this line. Pretty Marian . Nixon plays opposite Barthelmess as the sweetr and charming French girl of the story. Their romance is one of the great beauty and sacrifice, and the pair make appealing screen lovers. “ Out of the Ruins” is a story of France after the war, ifrom the pen of the celebrated British war correspondent and author,. Sir Phillip Gibbs. • It was directed by John Francis Dillon, who held the megaphone on Barthelmess’ recent great dramatic success, “ The Noose.” Heading the cast in support of the star are Bodil Rosing, Eugene ' Pallette, Robert Frazer, and Rose Drone. The scenes were made in typical French atmosphere, an entire Paris city block having been constructed by, technicians at the Burbank studios, with complete dwellings, cafes and business establishments.
