A well-known Pironngia farmer, Thomas Steel, when driving a young Jersey hn.II to a paddock yesterday was savagely attacked by the animal and knocked off his horse. The latter was severely gored, while Steel scrambled under a hedge. A lorry diver named Ala.un.sey heard Steel's cries and drove his lorry at the bull diverting its attention, while Steel crawled through the hedge. The horse was badly gored necessitating seventeen stitches. The rider escaped with bruises.
