HOKITIKA CRICKET CLUB

ANNUAL meeting. The annual meeting of the nboy Club was held in Keller’s Sampl Room last evening, twelvo member of the Club being present. Mr C. .] Kiiig was voted to the chair. Th Chairman outlined the work of th Club during the past two years am sou ted that the interest in cricket ii Hokitika was falling off considerably Mrr J. Turner also viewed the posi tion of the Club and expressed re gret at the position of the Club ii regard to members. It Was decided to carry on tin Hokitika Cricket Club. The election of officers for the sea son .1929-1930 then followed:— Patron: Dr J. B. Baird.

President: I)r H. D. Hayes. Vice-Presidents: Mrs Bergstrom Mrs Sherriff, Messrs'} Newman, Reller Mclntosh, Murdoch, 'W. E. Williams Yarrall, L. Ross,' Hal l , Steel, Gillman, Partridge, ‘O’Connor, Jones Mackay Bruce W. H. Stopforth, S Preston. Stafford, Breeze Lawn, J. Stapleton, G. Perry, Evans, Furlong, and Graham. ■Secretary: Mr R. Nightingale. Club Captain: Mr A. Thomas. Vice-Captain; Mr C. J. King. Delegate to Southern Division Executive: Mr C. J. King.

It was resolved to enter a senior and junior team for the competitions, The subscription wag fixed at 10s for players over lSf’ aiid ps for players under 18. -•••:;

It was decided to-,instruct the delegate to affiliate withiithe West Coast Cricket Association. ..

A motion .of appreciation was passed to ; Mr’ C.i J"*. King-for his services to the Club in past;years.'

It was resolved to play an opening match against the Rirnu Cricket Club at the Mental Hospital grounds on

It was also mentioned that a rep team from the Northern. Division would most likely play a match against the Southern Division on December Bth. with a view to selecting a West Coast team to.tour Canterbury in the New Year.

A hearty vote of thanks to the Chair concluded • a very successful meeting.
