Beyond what is published in the press here, the police have received no information from New Zealand police concerning their interrogation of Biggs aboard the Ulimaroa, with the result that Melbourne detectives are unable to pursue a definite line of inquiry. They believe Biggs has a sister in New Zealand.
RACING IN N.S. AY ALES
SYDNEY, Nov. 28
That racing is in New South AY ales declining in popularity is made evident from the Race Club’s taxation returns, and also from the totalisator receipts. The decline in the tote receipts this year has been £74,000.
The .State Treasurer; Mr Stevens, says that the Government’s revenue from both sources has been diminshing appreciably for the past three years.
