Some time ago the N.Z. Rugby Union proposed a conference here during the • visit of the British team, one of . the matters for it.to be the. setting up of-; an Imperial .Rugby Board). The Eng- ... lish Union brought the,-matter before the International Board, and the reply is that all of the Dominions must revert to the Board rules if they expect to receive any consideration. j The Management Committee, at its meeting this week, viewed this development with much concern. It was regarded as a distinct snub. The opinion was expressed that New South Wales could not possibly agree to go back to the old rules. I Air Dean said that it was either that or to drift; and if we drifted, New Zealand would take other Unions with it. Australia and .Canada,would support it, and probably South Africa,,,, where an agitation was now going on in favour of the amended rules. If thej International Board was going to “ hold a big stick over us, New" Zealand would not how down to it.” I It was decided to send the corresponenee to the local Unions for an expression of opinion.
