TOTARA FLAT SALE. Messrs M. Houston and Co. report— We held a clearing sale of live stock at the above'yards yesterday on account of Mr-J. Halpin who has disposed of his properties to the Government. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers from all parts of the West Coast, and the ’sale was a very successful one. The cattle .were all yarded in excellent condition and butchers and graziers operated freely at prices on a par with recent sales. The whole of the yarding was cleared at the following price's:—ll dry cows at £7 7s, 14 at £6 14s 6d, 1 aped cow at £3 15s, ,18 twelve to eighteen months steers and heifers at £5 18s J6d, 1 Jersey steer at £3 2s 6d, 2 springers at £7, 13 three-year steers at £ll, 5 two-year steers at £8 12s, 1 Jersey cow and calf at £8 15s, 13 cows with calves at foot at £8 6s, 8 fat heifers at £l3 7s 6d, 8 nt £l2 ss, 8 at £l2 15s, 8 at £ll 2s 6d, 6 at £l2. 2 ifat stags at £l3 12s 6d, 8 fat and forward bullocks at £ls 10s, 8 at £ls 7s 6d, 15 at' £ls, 2 stags at £l2 17s 6d.
