Gould’s geological sledging party are making better time, over the last part of the trip to Queen Maud Mountains. It lias lighter loads ml the sight, of mountains ahead encourages it. Last night it camped at depot 0, which is 80-2 o latitude. Gould reported he had not seen the sun in the last 70 miles of the journey, hut with wind behind them and smoother surface they covered 18 miles that day. In Little America we are having very uncertain weather conditions. The skv is still overcast and the wind is shifting all round the compass. The fog find mist made such peculiar atmospheric conditions that the men are building a beacon.
