Slater told the Daily Mail’s Glasgow correspondent that he is marryincr a full-blooded negress in April. He said: “My fiancee was born in Basutoland,' where' her parents are wealthy planters. I first met her .in Paris 20 years- ago. She was then twenty years of age and had just finished her education. We corresponded throughout my long years at Peterhead Gaol, where once she came to see me.
