CULLING OF DEER
MINISTER’S PROPOSALS By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 27. A statement in. regard to the culling of deer and destruction to keep down numbers, was made by the Internal Affairs Minister to-day. He goes into the question of abolishing protection. This, for various reasons, is not considered advisable, and he says that the arrangements lie has made with Acclimatisation Societies to inane urate a greater scheme than existed in the past for culling. In order to help destruction, it has been decided there lie no limit to the number or sex of deer that may he taken or killed by a stalker during the open season. Investigation is being con ducted, and if it is thought desirable as a. result lie will call a conference of interested parties with a view to- further considering the* matter.
