A commemoration is to be held at Tauranga of the landing in New Zealand ojn 'November 29, 1329, of Archdeacon Alfred N. Brown. He went to Tauranga in 1834, and was the fiist missionary m the district. Archdeacon Brown built the house, which is now known as The Finis, and lived theio until 1884. His body lies in the old cemetery. On Friday. November 29, the old mission hell, which has been recast, will be rung at The Elms at 10.30 a.m., and on Sunday, December 1, at 3 p.m., a commemoration service will he held on the site of the old original mission chapel. A Maori choir will he present, and the service will he held qn the spot where Archdeacon Brown lived and laboured for so many vears.
