The course was fast and in good order. Speculation was brisk, a total of £18,341 going through the totalisator, an increase of £2,075 over last year. Maiden Handicap.— (2) Glenrossie 1, (1) Ben Hur 2, (3) Pari 3. Won by a length; three lengths. Time 1.15. Manukau Hurdles.—(l) Hard Gold 1, (2) Rash 2, (4) Call Again 3. Won easily by six lengths; two lengths. Time 2.45.

Hokio Hack.—(2) Just So 1, (1) Acora 2, (3) Tc Taster 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.1. Golden Shadow; Le Champ and Pompadour lost their riders round the back. T. Green sustained a broken collarbone, and N. Voitre and Broughton slight concussion.
