Tlie Albert Medal has been awarded to Lieutenant-Commander Maxwell Hyslop, and to Marine Albert Streams for gallantry in saving life last July when a heavy explosion that was caused by a hang-fire occurred in the turret of H.M.S. Devonshire, during firing practice, in the zEgean Sea, killing sixteen men. . 1 1, Although knowing the' danger in-
volved by the heavy cordite fumes and further explosions, and while the fire was still raging, they entered the turret at grave personal risk to get away the wounded and to prevent the ignition of other cordite charges.
NANSEN’S PRAM
PRESERVATION ATEMPTED

A committee under the presidency of Lord Cecil has been formed to raise funds for the preservation of Dr. Nansen’s old ship. Pram, which lies in dpck in Norway in a serious, condition and which is - threatened with destruction.': i
INDIAN AIR MAIL
REVISED SERVICE.
RUGBY, November 20.
. The, first Indian air mail on the revised Imperial Airways Service, which now leaves Karachi in Tuesdays, instead of Sundays, arrived at Croydon Aerodrome to-day. The machine was a big Armstrong Siddeley air liner, which had flown across Europe from Athens. The mail, which was the second largest yet flown from India to London, consisted of approximately 35,000 letters.

The King has- approved the appointment of Sir Cecil dementi Governor of Hong Kong, as Governor and Commander in Chief of the Straits Settlements and High Commissioner of the Malay- Straits, in succession to Sir Hugh Clifford, whose retirement at his own request was-recently announced.
