THE LUFTHANSA DISASTER

(Received this day at 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 22,

’The jury returned a verdict of accidental death at the inquest on the victoms of the Lufthansa Disaster on 6th. November.

Kiclson, the sole survivor, giving evdence declared the pilot who had the responsibility of deciding whether there should he a. flight, was placed in a most awkward position. He was expected to start although he had misgivings about it, but felt he had better have a shot at it. There ought to be an experienced official to look at the weather report and decide whether the flights should be cancelled or delayed.

The Jury added a rider that the pilot ought to -be relieved of responsinility of starting on foggy mornings, and suggested that the Air Ministry should examine Kidson’s suggestion.

HATRY CASE HEARING

LONDON, Nov. 22,

On resumption of the hearing of the Hatry case, the Crown Prosecutor announced there was a new charge of obtaining four hundred thousand sterling by duplicating shares of a Drapery, Trust, Associated Automatic Machines, and Retail Trade Securities Limited. It is alleged that it amounted to merely represented to much larger sums.' Defendants had purported to pledge or sell shares bearing identical numbers with those in possession of the original owners. Sometimes the numbers were triplicated.
