ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.

CHRISTCHURCH, November 20.

The weekly live stock sale was held to-day at Addington. Prices for the most part showed a decline, the yartlings exceeding demand to some extent. Beef. —There were 506 cattle yarded. The sale was irregular. Prices,, were easier by 25s per head for steers, 30s for cows, and 20s for heifers. Steers sold: Heavy £2l to £22 7s Gd; prime £l6 to £l7 5s ; medium £l4 to £ls 15s ; light £lO 5s to £l2 15s. Cows and heifers sold : Best £1,3 10s to £ls 15s, prime £lO to £l3, medium £8 to £l2 15s, others £5 5s to £7 15s.

Mutton.—There was a large entry. Competition was regular, at a slightly lower basis. Mostly shorn sheep were yarded. Prices were: Wethers, shorn heavy 29s to 325, prime 26s to 28s, medium 23s to 255, light 20s to 22s 6d. Ewes sold: Shorn heavy 25s to 27s 6d, prime 22s to 245, medium 19s to 21s, light 15s toi 17s. Store Sheep.—There was a small offering, owing to a small attendance. There was slow bidding. Crossbred wether hoggets, woolly, sold to 245; three-quarterbred ewe hoggets, woolly, to 245; halfbred to 22s 9d; shorn to 21s lOd; backward shorn wether hoggets 12s to 14s; four and six tooth to 22s 3d; aged ewes and lambs, shorn, to 1.45; woolly to 15s. Lamljs.—There were 900 Forward. The supply was in excess of the demand. The best sold 28s to 30s lOd, prime 26s to 27s lOd; others 22s to 25s lOd.

Pigs.—There was a large yarding of pork and bacon. Prices were easier. Choppers sold from £2 10s to £6 3s 6d; pork 42s to 50s ; heavy pork 52s 6d to 62s Od. The average price was 7 ; RI nor Ih. Bacon sold from £3 7s to £3 15s ; heavy £4 to £5 4s 6d. The average price was fijd per lb.
