FIRST DAY’S RESULTS

AUCKLAND, November 20. The Otahuhu Trotting Club’s spring meeting opened ( to-day in ideal weather conditions. The- track was in good order. The totnlisator handled £26,161, against £36,163 on the first day last year, which was a Saturday, a decrease of £10,002. Results: — uellicoe Handicap.—(B) The Abbey 1, (2) Nelson Tasker 2, (5) Native Prince 3. Won by a length, half a length. Time 2.48 4-5. Campbell Handicap.—(2) Raima 1, (9) Floraline 2, (6) Tradesman 3. Won by two lengths ; half a length. Time 4.34: 4-5./ . . • Stewards’ Handicap.—(2) Belle Axworthy 1, (1) Great Parrish 2, (5) Master Huia 3. Won by a short neck; half a length. Time 3.25 3-5. Massey Memorial Handicap.—(l) Machine Gun 1, (7) Gold Dial 2, Stanmoor 3. Won by a neck; the same. Time 2,47. Manukau Handicap.—(ls Te Wahia 1. (6) Benefice 2, (2) Vanity Boy 3. Won by a head ; two and .a half lengths. Time 2.15 1-5. McMillan and Morrison, riders of the first and second horses respectively were cautioned for interference with each other in the straight,.
