N.S.W. COAL TROUBLE
NO MEN OFFER FOR HOTHBURY JUNE. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, Nov.’ 20. The New; South Wales Slate Ministry’s attempt to reo]>en the Rothbury Coal Mine met with no success today. it is umlerstopd that there was no response to* the Government’s appeal for miners. Mr Weaver, Minister of Mines, motored to the mine to-day, and he desired to address a number of men near the scene, but they declined to hear b i m.
ft is quite apparent to the Minister that the Mining Unions are determined to boycott the Government’s efforts, and the next step, lie said, would be to call for free labour. This, however, will not he attempted until after Mr J. H. Scullin’s conference result is made known.
