WELLINGTON, Nov. 19
Complaints from the Dunedin Cham her of Commerce that excessive delays were experienced by South Island consignees, owing to Home steamers discharging at North Island ports on route, were recently taken up by tlie Wellington Chamber, which interviewed tlie Overseas Shipowners’ Allotment Committee on Dunedin's behalf. The matter was again considered at to-night’s meeting, when tlie general opinion was expressed that the South Island was very well served with the shipping available, anti that the shipping companies are working in the best interests of the exporter and importer in the handling of cargo.
