BRITISH PROPOSALS
TO PROVIDE FOR EMIGRANTS (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) . LONDON, Nov. 18. When the House of Commons was in Committee on the Widows’ Pensions Bill, Sir Kingsley Wood (Conservative) asked if there had been any discussion with the Dominions regarding tne reciprocal arrangements. Air A. Ponsonby replied that ..pensions’ schemes existed in several of the Dominions.! There would have to.be an adjustment in order to secure reciprocal arrangements. The underlying principle of the clause which was being discussed was that a, migrant' from Britain who had been a voluntary contrbutor should not lose the benefit solely because she emigrated. Miss. Susan Lawrence pointed out that the machinery with which they were keeping in touch with the British war pensioners all over the world could be used for the other pensioners. The Government did not want the widows to return from the Dominions in order to qualify for the pensions.
