CHATEAU TONGARIRO LICENSE

Air J. B. Thompson (Under-Secre-tary for Lands and chairman, of the Tongariro National Park Board) was interviewed to-day with reference to tJie Press Association message; received from Auckland on Saturday ,that the Akarana AJaori Association had resolved to send to the Acting-Prime -Minister (Air Forbes) a. ; 'strong protest against the issue tofthe ifiew hostel at National Parle of‘a 1 license to sell spirituous liquor. “The Chateau Tongariro people,” stated Air Thompson, “have never applied for a license, and as fat* os the Park Board is concerned it is going to observe strictly the present law and the agreement as to an embargo on liquor in the King Country entered into by the New Zealand Government with the Natives.
