Princess Theatre to-night, walhrealiseiJiow near the action came to ending j! the vscreen careers of Vernon Dent and Will Stanton. The sequence was made along the highway which crosses the international line separating:; the United States from-Mexico. Columbia, secured the exclusive rights -yt6;< this patch of roadway during the filming of the action. Technicians cleared the road of . traffic and officers of the two countries . kept. sightseers and curious persons at proper distance. Ther.stunt -man driving the. car, containing. Dent and Stanton, sped around the -curve and through the International . Customs •- Gate marking the Tia »l!uaha. entrance to Mexico. All went fine until a Mexican revenue officer, who'had not been informed about the “ chase scene, observed the racing car with the occupants standing upright in •the back* seat. He sensed something: wrong and was determined to stpp-the intruders at any hazard. Boldly :< the officer stepped 'into the middle of the road with his hand raised high. Iniorder to avoid hitting him, the driver' put ai. heavy (foot, upon the brakes.- Tire car stopped suddenly: but’ Dent arid Stanton continued their journey. The former fell flat upon his face 1 ,- landing on the driver’s, knee; while the latter’s cheek grazed the emergency brake. Stanton barely missed r a' dive through the windshield. Aside from a few scratches and bumps, that ; were' soon forgotten, no serious damage' was done. 'The sequence was retaken and forms one of the thrills in ,£ Golf Widows.” The “cast includes V’bra • Reynolds, Harrison Ford, John Patrick, Sally Rand, Kathleen Key, Vei’hon Dent, and Will Stanton.
