LONDON TRAGEDY

WOMAN’S STRANGE CASE

[United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copy right. J

LONDON, Nov. 1(3,

What will be known a.s tlie Mystery ot Room Sixty-six is intriguing tlie police and the newspaper reading public alike. A woman named Mrs Rosaline Fox was found in Room Sixty-six oi the Hotel Metropolc at Margate at midnight on October 23:c1, lying dead in bed after a fire in tlie room. 'The verdict at the inquest was-that her death resulted from misadventure, and she was duly buried at Great Fanslmw m Norway. Early in November, however, a Scotland Yard officer arrived at Margate to investigate her death, tlie result being tlie exhumation of the Ikxl.v on November 9;h. and tlie organs were sent to Sir Bernard Spelsbury, for examination.

Since then a long series of puzzling facts have been elicited, suggesting that her death is far from a.simple problem. Peculiar features are that the woman arrived at the hotel without any luggage, carrying only a handbag. She did not have even night attire. Secondly, she effected £ICOO insurance on her life on October 21st. under a short term accident policy, and only two days later she died.

Curiously, nobody has claimed the J2IOCO.

Four large packing cases, containing clues, were consigned to Scotland Yard to-night. \
