SITTING AT KUMARA. At the S.M,. Court, before Mr W. Meldrum, S.M., 0. Johnson, for allowing one horse to wander, first offence, was fined ss, with costs. S. M. Case v. T. Benyon, judgment summons £3 os Id. Defendant, who did not appear, was ordered to pay the amount forthwith, in delault seven days in gaol. . E. Morgan, licensee of the Junction Hotel, Dilmanstown, was charged with, on November 3, (1) exposing liquor for sale, (2) selling liquor, (3) allowing intoxicating liquor to he sold to persons under 21 years of age. M ( r Murdoch appeared for defendant and pleaded guilty to the charge of selling and not guilty to the charge of exposing, or supplying intoxicating liquor to persons under 21 years of age. On the charge of selling, a conviction was recorded, and defendant was fined £2, with costs.

Arising out of the same case, Henry Morgan, son of the licensee, was charged with not being the holder of a publican’s license, did supply intoxicating liquor to four persons in the Junction Hotel on November 3. Mr Murdoch, for defendarit, pleaded guilty in respect of one of the men, who was of age, but not guilty in respect to the others, each of whom could he proved to have been supplied with nonintoxicants. Defendant was convicted on the first charge and a fine of £l, with costs, was inflicted. The other charges were dismissed.' Four young men charged with being found on licensed premises at a time when the said premises were supposed to be closed, were convicted and ordered to pay costs, 10s.
