SCHOOL MYSTERY.
.LEEDS, October 1. More than 80 children attending two elementary schools here—at Moortown and Street-lane, Roundhay—were suddenly taken ill at school yesterday afternoon. Doctors and nurses had to be rushed to the Roundhay school, where the majority of the cases of sickness occurred, and many of the pupils had to be taken home in motor-cars lent by residents., A number of them had collapsed and were lying about the floors and in the school corridors. To-day nearly all had recovered, but a few were still confined to bed. The Roundhay scljool has been closed until Thursday and is being thoroughly disinfected. Dr. A. L. Wear, the Leeds School Medical Officer, told me to-day that a supply of milk received at the two schools from a eeratin source was suspected to have been concerned in the sickness and a pathologist’s report was awaited.
