THREE BUILDINGS INVOLVED
By Telegraph, Per Press Association.]
TAUMARUNUI, November 15
A fire at three o’clock this morning at Owhango resulted in the destruction of three buildings. The tire commenced at the rear of the Commercial Hotel, an eighteen-roomed building, and spread rapidly to an adjoining empty shop and dwelling of five rooms and to a six-roomed dwelling occupied by A. Johnston. In the absence of water supply and fire-fighting appliances the three premises mentioned were totally destroyed. The blaze- spread so rapidly that the Johnstons escaped with only a few personal effects. The hotel was unoccupied, being renovated.
