The steamer Maheno, which arrived here to-day, being one clay late, from Auckland, docks to-morrow for repairs to her damaged turbine, which will occupy at least a fortnight. Later she will undergo a complete overhaul. She will he replaced on the New Zealand-Sydney run by the Maunganui-; and the Maheno then enters the Melbourne-Wellington service.. The Maraina takes the Maheno’s passengers on Friday, sailing tor Wellington, instead of Auckland. The Marama’s passengers will sail by the Aorangi for Auckland to-mor-row. WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. Owing to the mishap to the Maheno’s turbines, the Union Coy. advise that the vessel will he unable to leave Sydney this week for'Wellington. The Marama, which arrived at Sydney on Tuesday from 'Wellington, will sail for Wellington on Friday in her place, and the Auckland pasengers will travel by the Aorangi, which will leave Sydney on Friday for that port. The Maunganui, now undergoing an overhaul pt ; aide land, will take the Marama’s sailing from the northern port instead of from Wellington as was originally intended, and will leave there on November 22nd. for Sydney. The Maheno. which was to have left Wellington on November 20th. for Melbourne direct—the first trip in the new subsidised mail service between New Zealand and Melbourne —will now be unable to do so, but will pick up her running in the new service, leaving Melbourne towards the end of this month for Wellington direct. The Manuka’s timetable is not affected, and that vessel will leave Melbourne on November 20th. for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington.
