FIRE BUG

RENEWED ACTIVITY. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 12. The residence of Mr E. J. Bell, painter and paper hanger, 64, Antigua Street, South, was ransacked in all rooms and deliberately set on fire during the absence of Mr and Mrs Bell this evening. The Fire Brigade arrived at about 9.45 p.m. The kitchen withstood attempts to force entry, and as far is ascertainable, nothing of value is missing. In the other rooms furniture was moved about, bed's tossed, drawers pulled out, cupboards opened and the contents strewn on the floor. The fire damage was slight, and was confined to the kitchen.
