AIR PAGEANT

FOURTEEN MACHINES.

WELLINGTON, Nov. 10. Fourteen machines of various makes will take part in the Aero Club’s pageant in Wellington next Saturday, or Monday, should the weather be unfavourable. The Marlborough Aero Club’s team will be in charge of the official instructor, Captain N. E. Chandfer, and will comprise Pilots J. Vavasour, F. R. Dick, C. A. McDonald and E'. Bramwell. The Auckland Club team members will be Captains Euan Dickson, D.S.C., D.F.C., \V\ S. R. Bloomfield, D. Hawkins, D.S.C., and J, Seabrook D.S.C. There are three lady pilots in New Zealand: Mrs Richmond, of Hawke’s Bay, Miss Clifford, of Christchurch, and Miss Bennett, of Marlborough. Miss Bennett will be unable to participate In tne pageant, but Mrs Richmond and M las Clifford will pilot machines, if time can be found, a ladies’ air race will be added to the programme. On Friday afternoon 20,0b0 leaflets will be broadcast over the city and suburbs from the air, a certain proportion being marked as passes to the pdgeant. On Friday evening the visiting pilots will be the guests of the United Service Officers’ Club, and on Saturday evening of the Wellington Aero Club

at the carnival dance at thb Adelphi Cabaret. Thoitgh there is still some finingup work to be done on the Rongotai airport, the surface should he 'in very good order by the end of the week.
