CIRCUMSTANCES OF DEATH,
CORONER’S FINDING.
THAMES, Nov. 12,
The circumstances into the death of Alfred 'Charles Samuel AVilson, a commercial traveller, who was killed when his motor car overturned on the main Paeroa-Thames road on Oct. 13th., were enquired into, before Coroner Lucas. The car was a two-seater, the passengers being Sidney AVest and two girls, Lucy A 'ley .and Evelyn White, all of whom attended a dance at Hikutara, leaving 'thlifd for the drive towards Thames at 2.30 a.m. A passing motorist found the party on the roadside. Wilson was'in a dying state, AVest was severely injured and the girls slightly,. Evidence showed there mid been no drink at the dance. AVest said the car was travelling at forty miles an Hour and got into grass on the side of the road and capsized twice. The Coroner found that Wilson* was accidentally killed,, being thrown from a car driven by himself which swerved and overturned.

ANNUAL MEETING
AUCKLAND, Nov. 12
At the annual meeting of the shareholders of the Luna Park Amusement Coy. the Chairman (Mr Henry Haywood) said the past year’s accounts showed a loss of £3,577. He favoured an endeavour to transfer the Company and its property to Australia. Negotiations were not yet definite. It was resolved that the sum, for disbursement among directors be reduced to £l5O and the Harbour Board be asked to reduce the ground rent from £2OOO to £IOOO.
DRUNKEN DRIVERS CONVICTED DANNEVIRKE, Nov. 12.
Charles Alfred Herbert, a farmer of Mnbnrnhara, was convicted by Magistrate Miller on a. charge, of being intoxicated while in charge ol a motor car in the main street. He was fined £4O and delicensed for six months.
The prosecution was a sequel to a collision in which nobody was hurt. A Maori named George Manihera was also convicted of being chunk in churge of a car and fine 1 .! £2O and his license was cancelled for twelve months. The native defendant ran into a bridge on the main road.

lion T. Wilford announces the Executive Council lias commuted the sentence on Brauman for the murder of bis wife at Dunedin to imprisonment for life.

Hon T. Wilford leaves for England to take up the High Commissionership on 7tli December. He renmikod to-day to a “Post” reporter that there bad been only two ambitions in bis life, one of which, conceived as a bov, was to become a K.C. That was fulfilled some days ago. The other which lie conceived in 1903 when lie first visited England, was to become New Zealand’s representative at Home. T have got them both now’, so 1 ought to be happy.
