SHEEP RETURNS

From information furnished by . the Inspectors of Stock in tbe various districts in the North Island, the average lambing for the current season in that part of the Dominion is estimated at 87.53 per cent., as compared with 81.61 per cent last year. The 1929 annual slice]) returns show 8,820,536 breeding ewes lin'd from these figures,, the number of lambs this season is estimated at 7,723,523. Experience has shown that these estimates are usually very close, being, if anything, on the conservative side. South Island figures will not be available until next month.
