RTVERIA FRAUDS.
NICE, September 2]. Mrs Edith Derbyshire, aged 32, who is alleged to be the wife of an English Army Officer and a native of Cardiff, was yesterday sentenced to 40 days’ imprisonment for uttering worthless cheques and begging in Nice hotels. The woman, who gave her maiden name as Stone, was arrested last month at an hotel and on leaving present a cheque in payment. The cheque in every case was found to be worthless.
