THE JAMBOREE
NEW, ZEALAND SCOUTS PRAISED. CHRISTCHURCH, November 7. Dominion Headquarters of the New Zealand Boy Scouts yesterday received a (cablegram from Sydney-, stating that the New Zealand S.outs returning from the Imperial Jamboree will arrive in Sydney by the R.M.S. Orford to-day. They will tranship to the Ulimaroa, which is due to arrive in the Dominion on November 12th. The Honorary Dominion Chief Commissioner. Brigader-General A. AY. Andrew, G.M.G.. of Christchurch, is in receipt of the following letter from Lord Baden-Powell to his Excellency the Governor-General : “Now that our brother Scouts from overseas are leaving, or have left these shores, I should like to send your Excel lency just a word to say how much we appreciated having so fine a contin-
srent from New Zealand at our Jamboree. They made a splendid impression among the Scouts of the world assembled at Arrowe Park, and won golden opinions for their smartness, efficiency, and good Scout spirit. The wet weather during the first week was unfortunate, but your Scouts smiled and whistled into everything—including the mud—with the utmost zeal. I only hope that they have enjoyed their visit to England half as much as we have enjoyed having them. It lias lieen the greatest pleasure to have them amongst us, and I am quite sure that many of them have made lifelong friends among their brother Scouts.”
